All these Scriptures are true. I believe them all.

And not one of them, or the sum of them, says that God will save everybody in the end.

There is NO way I am going to respond to every Scripture here . . . so . . . pick one or two.

Okay, let's start with these:

"This is good and acceptable in the sight of our God our saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus: Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." (1 Tim. 2:3-6, KJV)

What do you mean when you say you believe God will have all men to be saved?

Do you believe God gave himself to be a ransom for all?

Doesn't that make the purchased possession All? What does it mean..He cannot deny Himself?2Ti 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

"With God NOTHING is impossible." (Luke 1:37)

Do you believe it is possible for God to save people who have died in the sin of unbelief?

Do you believe it is possible for God to save every human being?

Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Does God really work all things after the counsel of His own will?

Do you believe that it is NOT God's will that any should perish?

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Do you believe God will do ALL His pleasure?

Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Do you believe that it is God's pleasure to reconcile all things unto Himself through Jesus?

I will respond to your verses:

1 Tim. 2 - As previously discussed, God does want all men to be saved . . . they are not all saved because He has granted us FREE WILL :-) If you believed in free will you would not ask such a question . . . that is a separate discussion, which we can - again - take up.

"Ransom for all" - absolutely. Just like He is the "Savior of All Men". The Class of potential saved individuals encompasses all men (no angels). Those who accept the ransom are saved, those that reject it are lost.

You are stumbling over "purchased". The land of Caanan was "purchased", bought, owned by the Lord, given to Israel . . . did they actually possess all of it? Answer: NO, never, ever. Some of it remained in heathen hands. So it is with the souls of men.

========================

Luke 1:37 God can save anyone, even tough cases . . . Hitler, Mariyln Manson . . . we would call them impossible, more impossible than a camel going through the literal eye of a sewing needle . . . God has does more amazing things. The individual still must allow Him to do so! NO-ONE is saved against their will.

========================

Eph 1:9 Here we go with Calvinism again. God sets the rules and He will not violate them. Life must be chosen by volutary obedience. It is His will for all to be saved . . .

Luke 13:34 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often *WOULD I* have gathered thy children together, as a hen [doth gather] her brood under [her] wings, and YE WOULD NOT!"

He would, they would not. Jack: THIS alone should clear it all up for you . . . He does NOT violate the rules of life He invented by crushing our will do to what He wants.

========================

Is. 46:10 God's will will not be countermanded . . . whatever a man chooses will always be turned to praise the Lord.

Psalms 76:10 “Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.” God does not make a man not get angry (dominate his will the way you suggest) . . . Rather He just uses it, or restrains it.

========================

Col 1:19 Same as above . . . it IS His will . . . He wills, those that get on board get the benefit, those that refuse get the wrath.

I do believe in free will, I've explained and illustrated it more than once. Think Jonah.

You say you believe God will have all men to be saved. Here is the verse.

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Why do you change the wording? Don't you believe what is written?

Does it have to be re-written for you to believe it?

Jack said...

Luke 1:37 God can save anyone, even tough cases . . . Hitler, Mariyln Manson . . . we would call them impossible, more impossible than a camel going through the literal eye of a sewing needle . . . God has does more amazing things.

The verse: Lu 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. Aren't you saying, "It is impossible for God to convince everyone to "will" to receive Him?"

That's "something", the verse says, "nothing" shall be impossible, I'm saying you don't believe "nothing" is impossible for God.

The individual still must allow Him to do so! NO-ONE is saved against their will.

Here you state that God can't deliver anyone who doesn't allow Him to. That implies it is impossible for God to save the unwilling... that is "something impossible" for God is it not?

If not, then why would God not save them? It certainly is His will!

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

How can you say you believe "NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD"?

Jack said...

Where do you find that conclusion?

Did Jesus give up on Jerusalem that day? Was he finished? Paul didn't think so...

Ro 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

What was Pauls will while he was on the road to Damascus?

Crushed by God!

What was Jonahs will while he was headed to Joppa?

Crushed by God!

What was the prodigal son's will, when he ended up longing to fill his belly with the pig slop?

Crushed by God!

God is in the business of lovingly crushing man's will to accomplish His purposes. Always has and always will.

How many times did God raise up armies and pestilence and plagues to crush the; stubborn will of Israel?

But this is what you said you believe:

Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

That all things shall be one in Christ at the end of time. This is not Calvinism! This is the ultimate reconciliation of all. You said you believe it. How?

Jack said...

You said you believe:

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Is. 46:10 God's will will not be countermanded . . . whatever a man chooses will always be turned to praise the Lord.

I'm afraid I miss your point. This verse says God will do all His pleasure!

Lu 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Re 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Eze 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Can you honestly say you believe that God will do all His pleasure?

Except that He will deny Himself the pleasure of seeing many return from his ways and live?

How can this be all His pleasure? Do you claim that God will take pleasure in that which He says gives Him no pleasure?

Jack said...

Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Col 1:19 Same as above . . . it IS His will . . . He wills, those that get on board get the benefit, those that refuse get the wrath.

What??? It PLEASED the Father that in him should ALL FULNESS DWELL! You said you believe that God will do ALL HIS Pleasure!

It goes on to amplify his pleasure...to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven, by the blood of His cross.

How can you possibly say you believe this? and at the same time say that He isn't going to reconcile all to himself but only some? You are not making any sense. You are denying the obvious and embracing something that isn't there. It seems like you are deceiving your self.
You do not believe that ALL fulness will dwell in God. Rather, you believe that only those who profess Jesus as Lord in this lifetime will dwell in Him, and all the rest shall dwell in eternal Hell. You do not believe that God has by Christ reconciled ALL to Himself through the blood of the cross, but only those who receive Salvation in this life. The rest ARE NOT RECONCILED, by their own choice or whatever...You do not believe they are reconciled.
