Lu 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Example of todays version of the Good News...or Does this pass the Good News test?
“Your grandma is going to hell forever but you’re not cause you trusted in Jesus.”
... I would call this a good news FAIL.
“You are definitely going to heaven when you die… but unless your children trust Jesus, I’m sorry but they will never get to heaven, but in fact they will be tormented day and night endlessly.”
…good news FAIL.
“Your wife is going to make it to heaven, but unless you trust Jesus and truly believe, you’re going to hell forever.” It’s up to you… Jesus died for you…” ...
Good News FAIL.
HOW ABOUT SOME REAL GOOD NEWS:
1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
1Jo 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Ro 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
1Ch 16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good;
for his mercy endureth for ever.
Ps 118:4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Joh 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Re 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Good news??? Pass!

OO-rah! This is a Gospel of hope, not manipulation. When our lives intersect with God's Kingdom (before or after the grave) we find salvation. It gives me great joy to see the scriptures heralding Christ's complete victory (winning all men/women!). There is plenty of warning, reproof and consequences. Its just all in Christ's hands, not different families of the Church. Blessings Brother!
